Dr. Heirigs received his medical degree from the University of South Dakota School of Medicine, Vermillion, South Dakota.
He then completed an internal medicine residency as well as a cardiology fellowship at the Creighton University School of Medicine, Omaha, Nebraska. He is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and nuclear medicine.
Dr. Heirigs is also a member of the American Medical Association and the American College of Cardiology. He specializes in preventative and diagnostic cardiology as well as experienced in nuclear cardiology, diagnostic coronary cardiac catheterization and trans-thoracic and trans-esophageal echocardiograms.
He primarily sees patients at the Nebraska Heart Institute office in North Platte, Nebraska as well as several other surrounding communities.
Dr. Heirigs and his wife, Laura, have five children. In their spare time they enjoy spending time with their children, triathlons/marathons, snow skiing, and mountain climbing. Dr. Heirigs is originally from South Dakota.
