Beta Blockers

Block substances in the bloodstream that can damage and weaken heart muscle. They slow down the heart rate and some beta-blockers have been found to actually improve ejection fraction. They slow the progression of heart failure and improve symptoms. Your dose will be started low and increased as you tolerate it to achieve target doses that will most benefit your heart. You will need frequent office visits until your doses are maximized.

Side effects include dizziness, slow heart rate, fluid build-up and fatigue when first starting this medicine.
