Quality can be defined and measured in a variety of ways. At Nebraska Heart Hospital, quality is a measurement of excellence. We consistently deliver quality health care using proven therapies, the best medical knowledge and experience, along with the most advanced medical technology available.
Measuring Quality
Quality can be measured in the outcomes achieved, in compliance with evidence-based processes known to enhance care, in the volume of patients successfully treated, and in the safety record of the organization.
Quality and service can also be measured in other ways, such as, effective communication, cleanliness of the environment and timely answering of call lights. Quality is ensuring each patient is treated with respect, kindness and dignity by every member of the Nebraska Heart Hospital team.
Measuring and reporting quality gives our patients and their family the ability to make informed decisions and pursue the best available care. We urge our patients to review quality information and ask questions to assure they are receiving the most efficient and effective care possible. Nebraska Heart Hospital believes that informed patients are better able to participate in their own care.
Looking at Processes
Another aspect of measuring quality involves examining whether an organization follows specific processes known to enhance care. This involves examining whether an organization has an organized systematic way of providing all the appropriate care measures for a specific condition.
Setting Goals
Nebraska Heart Hospital strives to be in the top tier of performance for all quality measures. We recognize the ongoing need for quality improvement and process change and continually seek out opportunities to improve all areas of patient care, research and education.

In this report, data is presented on recognized quality indicators and practices. So that you can compare data, the expected state and national averages (when available) are displayed. This data does not represent all there is to know about the quality of hospitals, but it can be a helpful resource when choosing a hospital.
The Quality Report contains statistical indicators about the following:
Patient Satisfaction
Utilize Patient Satisfaction to view survey results measuring satisfaction about their experiences during a recent inpatient hospital stay. This is also referred to as HCAHPS (Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems).
